Jeffrey Pai's Bio Information

       Jeffrey S. Pai, Ph.D., A.S.A, P.Stat., is the L.A.H. Warren Professor, Warren Centre for Actuarial Studies and Research, Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. Dr. Pai earned a B.Comm degree (1984) at Feng Chia University, Taiwan, a M.Sci degree (1990) and a doctorate (1994) at the University of Connecticut, USA. Prior to coming to the University of Manitoba in 1996, Dr. Pai was employed at the University of Basel, Switzerland, researching in the areas of Econometrics and Finance. Dr. Pai has published scholarly work in statistics, actuarial science, insurance, and finance. Dr. Pai is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (1990) and a Professional Statistician of the Society of Statistics of Canada (2005). Since 1996, Dr. Pai has consultation experience with companies including Great-West Life Assurance Company, Canada, IC Group Inc., USA, and DFA Capital Management Inc., USA. He has been teaching at the post-secondary level since 1988. His experience has occurred in Canada, Switzerland, China, Thailand, and the United States, with courses in mathematics, statistics, insurance, finance, and actuarial science.
