Partners attended the Chinese Economists Society 2008 Annual Conference

The Chinese Economists Society (CES) 2008 Annual Conference was held on April 18-19, 2008 in Naikai University, Tianjin, China. Six roundtables and 42 sessions were listed in this conference, and more then 200 economists from China, U.S., UK, Canada, Japan, and India et al. attended the conference. All economists in this conference were from famous universities and academic institutes, such as Tinghua University, Peking University, Cornell University, Purdue University, IFPRI, UCLA, and Yale University.
Three partners of the DelPHE Project (Prof. Qiao Zhang and his student Jackie from CAAS, Prof. Milton Boyd and Prof. Jeffery Pai from University of Manitoba, and Prof. Holly Wang from Purdue University) attended the conference together. Prof. Qiao Zhang, Prof. Milton Boyd and Prof. Holly Wang were assigned to make the oral presentation in session 30 and 35 of this conference, the title were "The effectiveness of area-based yield insurance application in China", "The potential of weather insurance for improving risk management in Chinese agriculture",and "Evaluating Chinese Farm Level Yield Risks and Crop Insurance with Nonparametric Methods" respectively.
CES, found in1985, is one of the famous Economists Societies in the world. During the conference, Qiao, Milton, Holly, Jeffery and Jackie had made a deeply communication with other economists in this conference, which is helpful for ability-building and extend the influence of DelPHE Project.
