Farmer Survey about Agricultural Insurance Demand was Finished by the Project Team

       From 27th July to 4th August 2007, 11 people from three partners of the project, CAAS (Partner 1), University of Manitoba (Partner 2) and Inner Mongolia University(Partner 6) carried out a farmer survey for research of agricultural insurance demand research in two counties(one is farming region and another is pastoral region) of Inner Mongolia.

       The goal of this survey was try to find out farmer’s option on agricultural insurance, what kind of farmer is willing to participate in and benefit from agricultural insurance, and the factors that affect the demand of agricultural insurance, et al. After 10 day’s survey work, the team had visited over 14 villages and received 244 valid questionnaires, which laid a good foundation for the following research work.

        This survey will be important and helpful for the research of the agricultural insuance' demand in Inner Mongolia and China.
