Three partners attended EARAM-2009 Conference

 

The 4rd Asian Conference on Risk Assessment and Management (EARAM-2009) was held from May 17 to May 19, 2009 in Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China. EARAM is a forum among the risk scientists across Asia. The first EARAM conference was held in Beijing 1998 and the EARAM held its 2nd~3rd conference in Kobe and Seoul.

 

EARAM-2009 is the 4th conference, jointly sponsored by the Risk Analysis Council of China Association for Disaster Prevention, the Society for Risk Analysis-Japan and Korean Society of Environmental Toxicology, and the National Disaster Reduction Center of China. 15 conference topics, such as natural disaster, environment risk, risk and insurance, risk and policy making and integrated risk governance were included in this conference, and more then 150 scholars from China, Japan, Korean, U.S., and UK attended the conference. Three researchers of the DelPHE Project (Prof. Qiao Zhang, associate Professor Chuan Wang and research assistant Jackie Wang) attended the conference together. In addition, Prof. Qiao Zhang was assigned to make presentation in the session of “Risk and Insurance”, and the title of his presentation was “the Influence of Flexible Crop Yield Distributions on Crop Insurance Premium Rate in China”

 

During this conference, Qiao, Chuan and Jackie made communication with other experts on crop insurance, natural hazard, crop production risk analysis and risk modeling, and extended the network of DelPHE Project.
