DelPHE Partners attended the CES2009 Annual Conference

The Chinese Economists Society (CES) 2009 Annual Conference was held on June 13-15, 2009 at Guangxi University, Nanning, China, and the topic of this conference is “Chinese Economic Growth in Regional and Global Context”. Nobel laureate Prof. James A. Mirrlees, famous econometrician Prof. Gregory C. Chow, and Prof. Chung-Ming Kuan attended and lectured at this conference as the keynote speakers.

 

During June 13 to 15, six roundtables, 33 concurrent sessions and a poster session were run, and more than 250 economists from China, U.S., UK, Canada, Finland, and Chile et al. attend this conference. After join the CES2008 conference last year, six partners of the DelPHE Project (Qiao, Jackie, Milton, Jeffery, Holly and Yuanfeng) attended this conference together and three papers by the DelPHE Project team (“Selection of Crop Reinsurance Funds, by Jeffrey Pai and Milton Boyd”, “Evaluating the Production risk for Wheat producers in Beijing, by Qiao Zhang and Ke Wang”, and “The Demand for Information by Small-scale Dairy Producers in Inner Mongolia, by Yuanfeng Zhao”) were accepted and presented at CES2009 conference. Prof. Jeffrey Pai, Prof. Yuanfeng Zhao and Mr. Jackie Wang were assigned to make the oral presentation in session 14 (agricultural economics) and session 29 (Risk and Insurance). Besides, Prof. Holly Wang,DelPHE partner, also service as the Chairman of CES2009 conference and fully in charge of this conference.

 

In additional, the Delphe partners--Qiao, Milton, Jeffery, Yuanfeng and Jackie also made a deeply communication with other economists in the conference, which is helpful for ability-building and extend the influence of DelPHE Project.
