Project staffs carried out crop insurance survey in Huailai County of Hebei Province

        From May 20 to May 31, 2009, Prof. Qiao Zhang and other three research staffs (Dr. Chuan Wang, Dr. Dongdong Chen and Jackie Wang) went to Huailai county of Hebei province for the survey on Chinese crop insurance pilot experiment. The purpose of this survey is to understand the views and demand of insurers and farmers on the agricultural insurance clearly.

       Prof. Zhang and his survey team stayed in the Huailai County during May 20-22, visited and discussed with leaders and staffs of local agricultural bureau, meteorological bureau, PICC local branch accompanied by Changhai Sun, the vice president of agricultural bureau in local government. After that, Prof. Zhang and his team had went to eight towns and sixteen villages in Huailai county, and talked with the farmers on their cognition and willing on crop insurance deeply.

       Throught the survey, more clear understanding about the pilot situation of Chinese agricultural insurance were achieved and the survey is very helpful for the further research.
